The paper intends to identify the field of the problem and present the essence and dimensions of modern cybersecurity, as well as external threats to the cyberspace of the Republic of Poland, with particular emphasis on threats from Russia. In the next step, the authors will take up the problem of analyzing and assessing the possibilities of counteracting Polish in order to reduce the risk of a situation of reduced cybersecurity in terms of the new EU regulations. The entire paper will be summarized with conclusions and directions for further research. In addition, the article will be profiled with the hypothesis that: information efficiency in cyberspace may be a strong determinant of the effectiveness of counteracting threats to the cybersecurity of the Republic of Poland. To verify the formulated hypothesis, research methods related to the critical analysis of scientific publications, standards and norms as well as new EU regulations (including the NIS 2 and CER Directives), as well as other sources related to the research topic, as well as own analyses and results of partial tests such as diagnostic surveys according to the subject needs profile, will be used. The paper will therefore contain assumptions for the model of counteracting the class of threats in question.
